On Halloween Day (2007 or 2008) I had the privledge to Interview a Former "Think Fast" Contestant. The contestant's name was Tommi Tyler. Hey she replied on November 7, but it's worth it. Here's the interview.

(Her response is in Gold)

How's your day going?

I am doing great today. Thank you for asking. It is a
pleasure to be interviewed regarding my Think Fast
experience in 1990.

Well I have some questions to ask you.

Did you try out for other game shows before you
auditioned for "Think Fast"?

This was my first "try-out" for a game show. I was in
a commercial about 6 years after the episode for local
business in the Orlando area.

I haven't watched that particular episode in a while
can you tell me what team you were on?

I am trying to remember but the way it worked was they
gave us shirts. And based on this shirt that was out
team. I think it was yellow and blue. I am pretty sure
Danny & I were on the Yellow team. It was a long time
ago.

What was your hobbies back then and are you still
doing them today?

My hobbies were riding bikes, cheerleading, playing
Nintendo and roller skating. I don't do any of the
same things.

Which event was your favorite and the least favorite
out of the 5 events they had on the show?

I don't really remember the events specifically accept
for the one I lost. I had to pick out a head and tell
who it is. The head was Pocahontas and I missed it. I
think this was called the Brain Bender. The events
moved really fast one thing to the next. The host only
came out when the cameras came on. We would take
breaks between each event. As far as I remember we
didn't get very far. I really wanted to make it to the
locker room We didn't even get to see our opponents
finish the came. We were swept away to our trailer on
the Nickelodeon studio set.

According to yourself you lost the game, can you tell
me which prizes you won just out of curiosity?

I won a pair of Pink Converse and a camera.

How did the staff treat you including host Skip
Lackey?

The staff was very nice. Initially, the try outs were
at our school. The school made an announcement the day
before that Nickelodeon was coming to pick 2 students
to be on Think Fast. I told my parents and my Dad told
me to be as bubbly and smile and happy as I could. Go
out of my way to have a good time and they would pick
me. When I went to school that day they called us to
the gymnasium. When we got there they had us jump
around and play games and dance to some music. Sure
enough I followed my dad's advise and they picked me.
We were then told to come to Nickelodeon on a weekday
the studio was in Orlando, Florida. My parents drove
me and my classmates rode on a bus to be in the
audience. When we arrived at the studio we went to our
own trailer where they did my hair in a braid and
coached me on all the rules of the game. They went
over everything prior to us going inside to the
taping. When we got in there it was a big shock and I
was really nervous. The host Skip Lackey seemed very
hyper and a little weird. He disappeared when they
weren't taping and he was really excited all the time.
Overall, this was a fun enjoying experience even
though we lost the game.

Which game shows did you try out after "Think Fast"?

None but I would like to be on Deal or no Deal

Do you still get along with your team partner Danny
and your opponents?

I never knew my opponents as they were from a
different school and I had never seen them before.
Danny is now a pharmacist and lives in South Carolina.
I haven't spoken to him in many years.

What are you currently doing today and will you try
out for game shows in the future?

I am a graphic designer in school full-time for
Information Technology. I hope to move to the Los
Angeles area in the next year after I finish school.
Then I will try out for game shows because they film
so many of them at the studios there.

What do you have to say to all those game show folks
around here?

You have a lot of courage and I commend you for being
out going and enjoying yourself.

Well you take care of your self.
Thank you. You too.
